I grew up reading science fiction, cutting my teeth on Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke. It's been a while, but reading Four Lives reminded me of how much I love science fiction and why. Anything can happen, and does in this book. It kept me up more than one night, not wanting to put it down until I knew what was going to happen next. Good characters living in a world we cannot imagine. Or wouldn't imagine without the author's help. Good stuff. Learning that this is his first book made me look forward to more.
